What an amazing day on the street corner! Tim and I were challenged to take our faith higher after cancelling last week's event due to the threat of rain, but after getting a call from a neighbor we serve, we announced that we will be having our event rain or shine going forward and trust God to impact hearts.
Today's event was chock full of new returning neighbors (we're getting a reputation for the best grill in the area) as well as many new faces. A neighbor we met today graced us with a song he wrote - what an incredible bluegrass sound he has! Maybe he will write a theme song for us?! This same guy also felt comfortable enough to share his story with the group and tears and comfort flowed in the circle. What courage!
Also, we got to honor our youngest regular servant Aidan Connnell! Aidan has served since the first event and today we sang 'happy birthday' as well as had a time of both his friends and those he has served share about how he has impacted our lives. Well done Mighty Man Aidan!
More exciting news as MMOG welcomed Quality Comprehensive health services to the Street Corner Ministry! They pulled up their mobile testing unit and met the needs of our neighbors in a way MMOG never could. MMOG relies on its partners to do the work needed in the community - so thank you Kelvin, George, and L'Monique! We are looking forward to having you join us regularly.
Feeling left out? Don't! Meet us at the Street Corner on May 7th. See you there!
